Musica Sacra Dec. 17th Christmas Concert
The Holy Rosary Catholic Church Sanctuary is the perfect venue for the inaugural concert series of the Musica Sacra Chamber Chorale. This European-style church with its wonderful acoustics, gorgeous stained glass windows, dark oak pews, and marble columns creates a fitting atmosphere of grandeur and elegance to listen to choral music in the sacred space for which it was intended. This series of Christmas concerts, entitled "Peace & Joy", will provide a beautiful, musical introduction to Christmas for all who attend.
The featured work on this year's concert is Stephen Chatman's brilliant Christmas suite Carols of the Nativity as well as the world premiere of Spanish Cradle Carol: An Homage to Maurice Ravel by Bob Ingalls for Chamber Choir, cello and piano featuring Seattle Symphony cellist Roberta Downey and MSCC accompanist Kevin Aanerud.
Also included in this concert are settings of the following carols by distinguished American choral composers:
Mary Had a Baby by Sam Batt Owens All My Heart This Night Rejoices by Z. Randall Stroope Veni, Veni Emmanuel by Allen Koepke O Nata Lux by Guy Forbes Round the Glory Manger by K.
