A VERY VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS CAROL, DONE LIKE DICKENS!
"BOSTON 1879" Travel back in time to the Victorian Era with "ENGLISHMAN THOMAS HUTCHINSON" portrayed by Actor Al LePage for a DRAMATIC READING PERFORMANCE! LePage not only based his specially created shortened version on DICKENS' HISTORIC SCRIPT, but also does it ON LOCATION WHERE DICKENS DID IT, in the HISTORIC PARKER HOUSE HOTEL!
DICKENS' ACTING STYLE! Dickens simply used his voice, made facial expressions, gestured and moved his body to CREATE ALL THE CHARACTERS! LePage will do the same -- accents and all -- plus sound effects, too! From Scrooge to Tiny Tim, from Marley's Ghost to Mrs. Cratchit, there's howls and growls, bangs and bongs, a DANCE WITH A SONG, lively laughter and heartfelt tears.
BEFORE THE PERFORMANCE, PLAYFUL AND INTERACTIVE! LePage's love of improvisation not only means that he may engage you in conversation, but also could ask you to join him on the stage! Since he likes to experiment and believes in seizing the moment, even he doesn't always know what's going to happen next. He's also definitely got what could aptly be called "HIS STORIES" to tell, too, both in "THE YEAR" relevant to the place he's performing to connect, interpret, and share history with the audience. This not only makes each performance UNIQUE, but also keeps them fresh and EXCITING, spontaneous and FULL OF SURPRISES, too!
CIDER AND TASTY TREATS, AND A SPECIAL GIFT! All performances will include an opportunity to have a sip of cider and a tasty treat, plus at least one special gift will be given to an audience member during the performance by "Mr. Hutchinson," too!
SURPRISE! AFTER THE PERFORMANCE, "MEET THE ACTOR," YES! "Traveling Thespian Thomas Hutchinson" himself will stay to socialize while you and everyone else enjoys some cider and tasty treats!
