Dziewczyna - Polish for "Girl"
In December 1981,  General Wojciech Jaruzelski declared martial law in Poland. Elżbieta again witnesses tanks on the streets triggering scarring memories of Soviet tanks outside Warsaw in 1956 when her father was arrested and disappeared.

concrete timbre

presents Dziewczyna, a multimedia theatrical concert combining a series of flashback vignettes, live jazz, classical and electronic music selections, poetry, video projections and historical photography to chronicle Elżbieta's story of growing up in communist Poland at a time where identity was officially stamped by Big Brother but was defined and realized by the people.
