Claire Lynch Band

Ever since her early years with Alabama's Front Porch String Band, Claire Lynch has been a stand-out creative force in the world of bluegrass music, with her sweet, pure vocals and top-notch songwriting couched in a captivating blend of traditional bluegrass, country, folk, and swing. Twice the International Bluegrass Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year, Claire has recently been nominated again for her recent CD, Watcha Gonna Do (Rounder).
Claire's band features a trio of bluegrass virtuosos. Musically versatile and imaginative Ontario native Jason Thomas brings monster chops on fiddle and mandolin. IBMA award-winning bassist Mark Schatz's deft touch and masterful instinct for groove provides the band's rock solid grounding. Matt Wingate (guitar) is a remarkably soulful young gun and recent MerleFest Doc Watson Guitar Champion.
With a seasoned sound that is simultaneously unpretentious and richly textured, the Claire Lynch Band fosters a wonderfully down-home, albeit high caliber, front porch sensibility.
