Kung Pao Kosher Comedy Presents... Comedy Returns to El Rio!
Comedian/comedy producer, Lisa Geduldig, began her stand up comedy career 22 years ago at El Rio in San Francisco's Mission District. In commemoration of her 20th year in comedy, two years ago she launched a monthly comedy night, Comedy Returns to El Rio! the second Monday of the month at the club that first put her onstage.
The Monday, Nov 14th show features: Diane Amos, Paco Romane, Loren Kraut, Mike Spiegelman, and Lisa Geduldig
DIANE AMOS is a San Francisco-based actress and comedian who had a unique upbringing: she was raised in a household with lesbian mothers, one African-American and one Jewish. For the past 17 years, Diane has been The Pine Sol Lady in their national commercials. She has appeared in numerous films including Nine Months, Copycat, Angels in the Outfield, EDTV, and Twisted with Samuel Jackson and Ashley Judd. Diane was a semi-finalist in Star Search; has been on A& E's Evening at The Improv, Lifetime's Girls' Night Out and Comedy Central's Women Aloud. In addition, Diane has been a winner on the game shows: Wheel of Fortune, $25,000 Pyramid, and Super Password. She is the mother of two and wife of one.
PACO ROMANE is a familiar face to Bay Area fans of comedy and music. He performs year round and is a regular performer of comedy in the Bay Area and around the country. He was awarded "Best Comedian" by The SF Bay Guardian in 2005 and was runner-up in 2007, and 2008. He is a Company Member of the award-winning sketch comedy group, Killing My Lobster, and is a founding member of Richter Scale, San Francisco's premier socio-political sketch comedy group. In addition to being a comedian, Paco is also a multi-instrumentalist, award-winning filmmaker, voice over and commercial actor, writer and sketch comedy teacher. He has performed in many films, plays, sketch comedy shows, podcasts and commercials.
LOREN KRAUT was a finalist in the Battle of the Bay Comedy Competition in 2007 and 2009. Her style is laid-back and somewhat dark, covering such subjects as her obsessive-compulsive disorder and anorexia or writing the perfect suicide note. She can be seen throughout the Bay Area touching or counting anything that needs touching or counting most recently at The Purple Onion, The Clubhouse, Rooster T. Feathers, Harvey's Funny Tuesdays, The Wharf Room, and at a coffee shop near you.
MIKE SPIEGELMAN is a founding member of sketch groups Fresh Robots and The Bitter Show as well as the comedy duo of Laundry Basket & Spiegelman. He has opened for Emo Phillips, David Cross, the late Mitch Hedberg, Robin Williams, and others. He is a frequent host of the Darkroom Theater's "Bad Movie Night," runs the popular Layover Bar comedy showcase in Oakland, and his website "Luggage Tuesdays" is the Internet's finest repository of restaurant and produce-themed humor.
