Classical Interludes: Sofya Mellikyan
Armenian-born pianist Sofya Melikyan is recognized as an artist with a unique voice and enthusiastic zeal for her work. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, she performs compositions by Aram Khachaturian, Komitas Vardapet, Eduard Sadoyan , Alexander Arutunian, Jirayr Shahrimanyan and Arno Babadjanian. Children under the age of 6 will not be admitted.
Classical Interludes is made possible in part by a generous gift from James J. O'Toole and is supported in part with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and many generous individual donors.
