Classical Interludes: Importango
IMPORTANGO consists of three awesomely talented musicians who together capture the passion and excitement of traditional Argentine tango. The trio consists of the virtuoso violinist Machiko Ozawa, former concertmaster of Orquesta Sinfonica Sinaloa de Las Artes; the multi-talented, extraordinary tango guitarist Adam Tully; and the award-winning Argentine pianist Emilio Teubal. Works performed are by some of the legendary composers from Argentina, whose music touches hearts with its passionate, melodic beauty. Although each member of IMPORTANGO is a concert-level performer in his or her own right, since 2009 the Brooklyn-based trio has been gaining a devoted following with their regular "Tango Thursdays" at Pane e Vino, Cobble Hill.
Children under the age of 6 will not be admitted.
Classical Interludes is made possible in part by a generous gift from James J. O'Toole and is supported in part with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and many generous individual donors.
