2nd Annual Charity For Youth Concert
On Friday, December 9, 2011, Bella Luna Restaurant & Milky Way Lounge host our 2nd Annual Charity for Youth Concert. Returning from last year are local progressive Afrofunk favorites, The Macrotones (www.macrotones.com). Joining them this year are local new-comers Kina Zoré - a fusion of traditional and contemporary African music - and Uhuru Afrika featuring DJs Adam Gibbons & Max Pela and Master percussionist Sidy Maiga.
Last year we raised over $1,000 for local non-profit organizations, Roxbury Youthworks (http://www.roxburyyouthworks.org) and Sociedad Latina (http://www.sociedadlatina.org). Additionally, guests were encouraged to bring a gift donation which mounted high under a Christmas then brought over to Horizons for Homeless Children. This year we hope to raise even more money, collect more gifts, all while enjoying Boston's best live music and DJ offerings.
Join us in our mission to create community through delicious food & beverages, art & music; to be a gathering place where everyone feels comfortable and has fun; and to build a better Boston by supporting the work of local non-profit organizations. Special thanks to Wyatt Posig from the Macrotones for helping to put on this special event for the second year straight!
