Cris Williamson Songwriting Workshop - Lexington KY
Have you ever thought to yourself: "Oh, that would make such a great song...but I don't know how to do it!" Or: "I wrote down my thoughts, but how do I turn them into a song?" Songs are made things, and I can show you how to make them. My particular style is to go from words to music. Whether you are already a songwriter, or a person who loves music and has the desire to seek after song, you are welcome here. You don't have to be a writer or a musician, but it would be good if you are curious and courageous and interested in expressing yourself in this condensed and beautiful form.I can show you how to turn thoughts into words, and move from words to music. Using various exercises and techniques, we will write individually, and in groups as we take this labyrinthine journey together. I know this process where dreamlike things must be captured, fed, and set free for a song to live. There are many ways to climb upon the wheel of Life. Songwriting is one of the best that I have found. I do not assume anything. We all start with baby steps and grow before our very eyes. This is deeply beautiful work, hard and so much fun. Everyone is invited.
