Supper Club Benefit for Rogowski Farm
The Rogowski Farm is a second generation family vegetable farm in the magnificent black dirt region in Orange County, NY. They were the first certified Naturally Grown farm in their region and after severe flooding from Hurricane Irene, they experienced a 100% crop loss. The farm is currently constructing hitunnels (pronounced "high tunnel") as a means to protect crops from future natural disasters and to grow vegetables throughout the fall and winter season. Hitunnels, similar to a greenhouse, help to protect crops from extreme weather conditions. The Local Roots CSA will be hosting a supper club to help raise funds for their vegetable farmer. 100% profits go to Rogowski Farm.
The 7 dish benefit is curated by chefs William Griffin and Jon Meyers of I8NY and Matthew Leif of Laundhaus, two favorites at the Smorgasburg Food Market. Our guest of honor is Cheryl Rogowski, MacArthur Genius Award winner and farmer of Rogowski Farm.
Attendees are invited to a social hour of complimentary drinks prior to the dinner sponsored by Lieb Family Cellars, beginning at 6pm. The drink menu includes apertifs and a 10 year Anniversary Pinot Blanc.
