Water World: The Lives and Habits of Aquatic Insects
Have fun discovering the wonders of the watery world of insects! Find out why ponds, streams, and vernal pools are important to understanding the health of our ecosystems in this daylong exploration with Frederique Lavoipierre, Director of SSU's Entomology Education and Outreach Program. An introductory lecture will be followed by a trip to Pepperwood's ponds and streams. Returning to the lab, we'll take a look through the revealing lens of the microscope to make fascinating discoveries about the world of aquatic insects. Bring lunch and water and wear layered apparel and sturdy hiking shoes.
