Event
The Skies of Spring over Pepperwood
Venus, Jupiter, and the crescent Moon will provide a dazzling spectacle in the west as the Red Planet Mars rises in the east at this stargazing event. Through the telescopes of the Hume Observatory and guided by two experienced stargazers, Bing Quock and Ronn Dammann of the California Academy of Sciences, view the life-cycle of stars visible in the winter & spring skies. This evening session begins at sunset with an introductory presentation at the Dwight Center, and then continues at the Hume Observatory. Bring lunch and water and wear layered apparel and sturdy hiking shoes. Dress warmly and bring binoculars and a red-colored flashlight, if you have them.
