From Las Vegas: Fans of Jimmy Century (Electronic Disco Hustlers)
Avant-garde dance rock / indie disco group Fans of Jimmy Century got off to a fast start when their 2008-2009 single, "Hot Sahara," climbed the FMQB dance and radio charts, reaching #23. Both "Hot Sahara" and its accompanying album, Twist of the Banshees, were on the pre-ballot in the Electronic Dance category for the Grammy Awards in 2008.
"Hot Sahara," & additional FOJC tracks have been selected for key placements in several popular television shows such as The L Word (in a scene so steamy, it's now referred to by L Word fanatics as "The Hot Sahara Scene"), Gossip Girl, Melrose Place, The Real Housewives of NYC, Running Russell Simmons, Community, Ugly Betty, The Hills, The Listener, and Samantha Who?
Popular 2011 film releases including Columbia Pictures' "Bad Teacher" starring Cameron Diaz & Justin Timberlake, and Warner Bros.' "Hall Pass" starring Owen Wilson will feature "Hot Sahara, " "Lola Like This," and "Your Crying Game" in the DVD bonus features of those films this summer.
Popular Brands / Advertisers Forever 21, Roxy Europe, and Zippo Lighters are also using FOJC songs in their 2011 online commercials/ads.
In 2010 FOJC collaborated for LucasArts, assisting composer Mark Griskey with the new Star Wars video game. They also launched a "Hot Sahara for Haiti" campaign, partnering with Windows 7 & ReverbNation to engage their fans, known as Hotheads, to raise over $500 for Haiti earthquake response. In May 2010, they were chosen to perform at the largest fashion show on the West Coast, Charity Fashion Show 2010, at Stanford University, and were later featured performers at The East Bay Express' annual Best of the East Bay 2010 event in Jack London Square in August, performing in front of a crowd of 3000.
Fans of Jimmy Century's exciting and theatrical live performances have made them a favorite on the West Coast festival circuit, giving them the opportunity to share the stage with artists such as Lady Ga-Ga, Cyndi Lauper, The English Beat, Shiny Toy Guns, Berlin, The Bird and the Bee, and The Presets. In May 2011 they supported Robyn at popular theme park, California's Great America. In June 2011 they performed at SF's famous Haight Street Fair for a crowd of thousands.
Look for the release of new singles including "Mr. Las Vegas," and "Va Va Voom" from the upcoming new CD in early 2012.

~Sonoma County's~ Baby Seal Club (Award Winning Indy Pop) re-returning for the very first time...again!
Winners of the North Bay Music Awards' "Best Indie Rock Band" of 2009, Baby Seal Club is musical alchemy of the most whimsical sort. Influenced by musicians from the 50's to the 'noughties, the best way to describe their unique sound is "melodic, harmonic, danceable, take off your pants-able, surf & earth, hip hop pop rock." Their live performances are often art-music spectacles filled with outrageous costumes and general buffoonery. http://www.babysealclub.net/
"We sing. We pluck. We strum. We bang. Often at the same time. Often in tempo. Usually in tune. Sometimes with soaring harmonies. We're an art-music spectacle continually in development. If you MUST put us in a box, might we suggest: post-modern, indie-art, quirk-pop. But, again, only if you must. We don't really care for boxes. We DO care for costumes. We like to reinvent ourselves and sometimes we succeed. We like songs. Songs contain ideas that can feed the soul. We like that. Our songs speak to our time and place in the world. When music makes our blood pump, we get giddy. Our giddiness might not be readily apparent. But inside, rest assured, we're pretty damn giddy. We like it when people pay attention to our songs. We really like it when they enjoy and dance to our songs. Hopefully you will too." BSC

Rebecca Vasile~ has brought the art of belly dance to thousands through both performance and instruction. Born into a family of dancers and with an innate internal passion for movement, she began studying dance at age four. Since then she has studied a large repertoire of dance genres from salsa to modern to lyrical jazz to afro-Haitian, Hawaiian hula, international folk dances, ballroom and more. Rebecca was introduced to Middle Eastern belly dance in 1995 at age eleven and being completely enthralled by its movements and style began to study the art form rigorously. Rebecca has studied with numerous teachers from around the world. Most influential however, were her intensive studies with master teacher Suhaila Salimpour, whom she began studying with at the age of fifteen. With over a decade of dancing at Suhaila's side and assisting both her and American belly dance matriarch Jamila Salimpour with their classes and workshops, Rebecca has earned her Level III certification in both Suhaila and Jamila's formats. Rebecca has excelled not only as a performer but as a teacher to students from around the world. She has taught group and private lessons, as well as workshops, in multiple genres of dance. Co-Hosted by the Creators of Techno Tribal The Mystic Beat Lounge! DJ ZACK DARLING - http://www.mashstep.com/
As long time North SF Bay native event producer and DJ, Zack Darling is well known as a highly effective mover and shaker. His DJ career spans over 20 years and began as a 14 year electro-punk DJ playing late night sessions on public and pirate radio stations in Mendo-fornia. He's since dropped multi-genre-smackdown beats on night clubs and parties large and small, including Decadance, Space Cowboy's Unimog, Mystic Beat Lounge's Techno-Tribal Dance, as well as some of the biggest clubs and dance events in San Francisco, like 1015 Folsom, Temple, Sea of Dreams and Kelly's Mission Rock and many more. He also regularly plays within the festival circuit, including Burning Man, Burning Man Decompression Street Fair and Harmony Festival. Zack has played every year as a headliner at EarthDance Festival for a decade now, and in 2002 was the first electronic dance music DJ to play the main stage at Reggae on the River where he shocked the Humboldt rasta crowd with nu-skool ragga breaks.
Musically Zack's style is most difficult to classify as it spans a gamut broader than most dance floor DJs. His mixes are expressions of the alignment between Mashups and bass-heavy dance floor beats. Zack is moving forward into a style where he can follow all of his passions, old and new, merging Breakbeats, House, Dubstep and Mid-Tempo Hip Hop, with Reggae, New Wave, Folk, Funk, Soul and especially classic Rock favorites remixed, retooled, repurposed for the dance floor. The emerging name for this unique musical flavor of bass-heavy dance floor bootlegs? Mashstep. Recently Zack launched the popular new website www.mashstep.com where fans of this sound explosion can saturate their spirits in bass-heavy dancefloor mashup wompers.
