Some bands like to take their time, THE LAST SEPTEMBER perhaps more than most. After five years out, they've reformed and recorded that "difficult second album". Having formed back in 2002 they began building a steady following in Scotland before releasing their first album, the melancholic, country tinged Vagrant Song in 2005. From this, the single "Streetlite" was released which is still an audience favourite and was played on BBC Radio 2 among others. Singer and songwriter Pete Deane's ethos remains that ideas are king and without them you've nothing, and so the band split in 2006 as the ideas ran dry. They returned of course, and The Last September is enjoying it's most creative time and has developed their graceful melancholic sound into something altogether more shiny. May 11 saw the release of indie-tastic bouncy single "Precious Time" and in September 2011 follow up to "Vagrant Song", second album "As The Crow Flies", which blogger Kowalskiy described as "not only a very impressive comeback, but a downright lovely album too". http://www.thelastseptember.co.uk/
KEITH MEISNER first drew inspiration for his song writing when travelling the world competing as a junior tennis player, reaching the top 100 in the world. He is the current Scottish Amateur Champion. He is now chasing a different dream. He has traded his tennis racket for an acoustic guitar and harmonica but retains the same intensity that will bring success on the musical stage. With a powerful voice and songs to match he adds his own modern and relevant style to his folk and blues influences with a maturity well beyond that of his 23 years. Meisner often teams up with friend and fiddle player Duncan Ledingham who adds to the songs and live performances. Meisner's passion for words and song writing come from Bob Dylan and indeed Meisner has albums worth of written material waiting to be recorded and released. "Drink Up While You're Here" is a stone classic, a standard in the making. Hugely impressed, some political protest as well. Really great stuff" - Tom Morton BBC Radio Scotland http://www.myspace.com/keithmeisner1
