Win Horan and Mick McAuley

Winifred Horan and Mick McAuley will play a concert of traditional Irish Music at The Burren Backroom. Both long-time members of the internationally acclaimed Irish-American band SOLAS they will be performing a duet concert featuring material from their forthcoming second duet album which they are currently recording and is due for release in early 2012.

The Burren Backroom series is new and is principled on a series of intimate, casual presentations held in the atmospheric space created by well-known traditional musicians Tommy and Louise McCarthy in Davis Square, Somerville, Masachusetts.

Hosted by Brian O'Donovan of A Celtic Sojourn on WGBH radio, these evenings will feature core performers from many different aspects of traditional music as well as special guests, and conversations around the music. As is the custom of the Burren, it is anticipated informal and dynamic post concert sessions will be a feature.

And JUST ADDED: Maeve Gilchrist will be with us. Maeve is an amazing harpist/singer who has been raising eyebrows and generating accolades for the past few years in the New England area for her innovative approach to traditional songs and tunes.

Tickets are still $18 in advance, $20 at the door if available.
