A marvellous and mysterious event...a Halloween celebration of the extravagant and the grotesque...an all-night spectacle of atmosphere, costumery and diverse entertainments...an explosion of live music, dancing, circus arts and late-night revelry, snake-charmed into an absinthe-fueled early-morning speakeasy.
This year, Masquerade Macabre goes West, along the Oregon Trail, to one of the many ghost towns dotting the map. Gather your team and hitch your wagons, and see if you can survive the arduous journey. But chances are, you'll die a myriad ways instead...
Featuring: - Funkrust Brass Band: mixing punk, disco, EDM, metal, funk, Balkan brass and New Orleans second line with snazzy uniforms, choreography, megaphone vocals, and all-original music - Shayfer James & his ghostly band: dark, danceable anthems of mischief - Twisted aerial stunts by Fey Tality - Undead dance by Vesper Synd - Sideshow lunacy by Trick, the Bastard - Creepy burlesque by Billie Marquee - Demonic dance floor by DJ Joro Boro (Fri) and DJ Ceremony (Sat) - Ghostly visuals by Geoff Matters - Absinthe and other mind-altering potions by The House of St Eve (yes, t.h.o.s.e. cocktails...)
Plus: YES, you can actually play Oregon Trail! We bring you a live immersive version of the classic computer game. Bring your own team (6-10 people) or be paired up with other guests on the spot, and make it through the various challenges to cross the finish line in Willamette Valley. You will receive a custom "You have died of dysentery" pin (because let's face it, chances are that you will), and all teams that make it to Oregon will have their pins upgraded to stylish enamel. The team that arrives with the most points will also get a round of drinks on the house. Lots of photo ops and sudden deaths in between.
Costumes required: Old West characters, ghost gentlemen and ladies, dead saloon girls and barkeeps, Macabre carnival, aberrations of nature, cabinet of curiosities, dark Victoriana, evil funhouse, steampunk, Jan Svankmaier & Brothers Quay films, Freaks, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Think dark & creepy. Or dark & funny. Or whatever your Halloween costume happens to be. But if we have to ask, it's not a costume. (And in case we need to say it: ethnicity is not a costume, either.)
Venue: Gorgeously finished high-ceiling brick-and-wood large loft with roof deck.

Question: |
I really wanted to go to this party but when I noticed, it was sold out. I put my name on admission list. I received confirmation letter. Does it mean I can get into the place for sure? Thank you |
Answer: |
We are limiting door entry to RSVPs, but that list is long, and there may be a wait to get in. Your best bet is coming way early or way late to avoide the line. We'll do our best to accommodate all RSVPs. |
