From Patton Oswalt: "...[O]n Wednesday and Thursday, the 5th and 6th, I'm going to show two of the greatest boxing movies ever made. The Set-Up, with Robert Ryan, features one of the harshest moments of violence I've ever seen in a movie. Nothing graphic, but it seriously messed me up when I saw it last year. You'll know it when you see it. And the whole story unspools in delirious, hallucinatory real time. Frank Miller must've seen this movie a few times, I bet.
"And then, of course, John Huston's sweaty, smoky, doom-y and beautiful Fat City. Stacy Keach never looked so grizzled. Jeff Bridges never looked so fresh. Fresno never looked so horrible. Bring some cheap port wine and a hamburger. I'll be cackling in the back.
"I really hope you guys come out. I love these movies. I love seeing my favorite movieswith people who are seeing them for the first time, or just experiencing them again. If your life sucks, go to the movies."
