Revealing Shakespeare Series with Peter Hinton
A conversation with Peter Hinton Directing Shakespeare & Interpreting the Classics for Today
Thursday, July 30 7pm-9pm
Location: Theatre Calgary Rehearsal Hall (220 9 Ave SE)
Peter Hinton will discuss directing, most specifically around classical texts, and period and modern settings. He spent 7 seasons at Stratford and 6 seasons at The Shaw Festival. He will talk about the so called "Problem Plays": All's Well That End's Well, Troilus and Cressida, and Measure for Measure. He will discuss their history - why these plays are not as performed as they should be, and how he believes these are truly plays for our times. This Revealing Shakespeare will also include a Q&A.
