Timeless Traditions
"Timeless Traditions" is a performance of classical Indian music and dance resonating with the rhythms and intricate melodies created by bansuri (keyless bamboo flute), sitar and tabla and the fascinating footwork of the Kalapriya dancers. Musicians Lyon Leifer on bansuri, Rahul Neuman playing sitar as accompanied by tabla player Sabhasis Mukerjee will perform classical Hindustani music of northern India and a rarely heard jugalbandi (duet) between bansuri and sitar. Each of these gifted musicians will bring his virtuoso skill to the stage with passion and power. Kalapriya will perform exquisitely crafted Bharta Natyam works including "Ardnariisvar" a dance honoring the androgynous form of the deity Shiva.
