Triskelion Arts Presents... The Raving Jaynes & Jeff Seal
Triskelion Arts Presents a shared evening of new work by The Raving Jaynes & Jeff Seal
Wednesday and Thursday, November 18-19, 2015 at 8pm
The Raving Jaynes combine dance and improv to tell stories. Characters, settings, atmospheres and abstract imagery emerge from the simple seeds of skillful movement. Two unique personas go on a journey that gradually reveals itself amidst a collage of scenes and dances. The audience makes its own surprising discoveries in a made-up story that's much stranger than it first appears. The dancers become actors and back again, transforming dialogue into movement and movement into dialogue. The sacred and (more often) profane, natural and fantastic, flawed, ridiculous and ever-hopeful mingle in a field of imagination and play.
Truth is relative, sure, but as far as he's concerned Jeff Seal has got this sh*t figured out. If you're a fan of one-man shows and downtown theater in general, that's your problem, not his. If you're a fan of having the truth rammed down your g-d damn face then you're in luck! He will not give his audience the same two-bit horsesh*t advice they can get from any self-help book; He's here to give you the %!@?!ing truth. Mixing standup, storytelling, characters, and clowning, Jeff's new show might not be any good but he promises that you'll be a little less full of sh*t by the time its over. And, quite possibly, it could change the way you think about your entire life.
This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
