Femikaze
As the East Bay's premiere all-female comedy team, Femikaze brings the finest in pro-feminist, pro-funny sketch comedy, mining laughs from popular culture, politics and the quirks of being female in contemporary America.
Founded in 2011 by Kelly Anneken and Isa Hopkins, Femikaze strives to create opportunities in comedy for ladies of all shapes, sizes, ethnicities and orientations. After a successful run with The Marsh's "Comedy Brains" series (Winner, "Best Comedy Show Remix," East Bay Express) and performances at San Francisco's "A Funny Night for Comedy," Femikaze is thrilled to present their first independent production at Berkeley's Subterranean Arthouse.
Femikaze boasts an all-star roster of Bay Area comedy favorites, including Kay-cee Allen, Brit Frazier, Therese Garcia, Erin Loftus, Natasha Muse, Evangeline Reilly, Carinne Salnave, and Ellen Westberg.
"Night of the Living Femikaze" features parodies of the Twilight film series, Dr. Frankenstein's creative parenting solutions, and a bewitching visit from Anderson Cooper, along with performances from up-and-coming standup comedians Shanti Charan (2011 Funniest Female in Berkeley, 2011 Winner Rooster T. Feathers New Talent Competition), Karinda Dobbins (The Purple Onion, National Queer Arts Festival), Lydia Popovich (Hater Tuesday, Five Funny Females), and Colleen Watson (SF Punchline, Wharf Room).
All this, plus more zombies than you can shake a shotgun at!
Don't miss this ghoulish good time! 4 nights only! October 21, 22, 28 & 29 @ 9 PM!
