ROBIN LANE
Robin Lane got her professional start singing with Neil Young on "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" album. Robin moved to the east coast and eventually to Boston, where she formed Robin Lane and the Chartbusters. In 1980, she and the band were signed to Warner Brothers Records. The group had the 11th video ever played on MTV, did several national tours, and was voted one of Rolling Stone Magazine's Top 10 New Bands of 1980. Known for the songs: "When Things Go Wrong", "Don't Cry", "Why Do You Tell Lies?", and "I Don't Want To Know". Robin has songs recorded by the Bangles and has performed with the Kinks, The Police, The Cars and many more. After moving to western MA in 2001, Robin founded her not-for-profit Songbird Sings to give those silenced by trauma the opportunity to tell their stories through songwriting. Songbird Sings is the umbrella for Giving Youth a Voice, A Woman's Voice, Songs for Peace and Healing, and more. These programs are having transformative effects on those who participate.
