The Pagosa Piano Experience
Vision Quest Concerts Presents A Contemporary Solo Piano Concert Featuring three world class, Colorado based, award winning international contemporary concert pianists. Don't miss this evening of creative, heartfelt, contemporary solo piano music!
The original solo piano styles of these artists have been compared with George Winston, Liz Story and Jim Brickman. However, the compelling original music of these broadly imaginative composers ranges from from jazzy new-age and upbeat neo-classical, to pieces reminiscent of an intensely somber and dramatic soundtrack for a "Twilight" - type saga.
Lee Bartley is a native of Colorado and a graduate of Denver University with a degree in music theory and composition. Lee has been playing piano for over 50 years. He says that he has always followed his heart when it comes to composing music. He chooses to focus mostly on what he calls "classical art songs." As a soloist, and as the principal composer for the Denver based and nationally recognized Smooth Jazz band, "Images," he recorded six national releases, charting in the Billboard Top Ten for national radio airplay.
Lisa Downing is a multiple award winning, international concert pianist who is re-defining the genre of solo piano. Critics have said that "Lisa's performance will blow away all your previous assumptions about solo piano," and "Lisa's playing touches all your emotions, providing them with a startling mastery of her own beautiful and heartfelt voice." Ms Downing performs all over the world with Grammy Award winning musicians such as Liz Story, David Lanz, Will Ackerman, Suzanne Ciani, and Peter Kater.
Louis Colaiannia is a multi award winning pianist and composer. His most recent album Closer was recorded at Imaginary Road Studio and produced by Will Ackerman and Tom Eaton. It was Number 1 on the One World Music Top 100 Radio Chart and nominated for a Zone Music Award and an EPR Award. His performances have been called "stunning in their power and beauty". Alejandro Clavijo of "Reviews New Age" called Colaiannia's music "an explosion of sounds and melodies".
