Slow Food Santa Cruz Edible Garden Tour 2015
Be inspired by your neighbors who are doing great things with grey water! Admire chickens in their chicken palaces. Wander among pomegranates, avocados, and paw paws.
Join Slow Food Santa Cruz for our fourth annual Santa Cruz Edible Gardens Tour on Saturday, August 8, 2015. This Slow Food Santa Cruz event is a unique opportunity for residents of the greater Santa Cruz area to tour local edible gardens, both residential and public. Edible garden tourists will discover gardens that represent many stages and styles, from elaborate showcase gardens to functional do-it-yourself gardens to an innovative aquaponics greenhouse. We hope that this event will inspire gardeners and neighbors to share and learn about the art of sustainably growing delicious vegetables and fruits at home. The tour will feature an assortment of demonstrations and activities throughout the day, including gray water system tours, tips on propagation, and of course sampling the bounty of the late summer harvest.
After the tour join us for a Pie Party in the new Riverside Community Orchard. There will be a raffle, mingling with the Slow Food Santa Cruz board and of course, pie!
