Business Obligations Under the New Disability Rights Regulation of the Chicago Human Rights Ordinance

The Chicago Commission on Human Relations (CCHR) will be implementing a new disability rights regulation associated with the Chicago Human Rights Ordinance. The Ordinance protects individuals from discrimination on the basis of 16 different protected categories including disability. Through the Ordinance, businesses open to the public must make their facilities, products and services accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities. This presentation will cover a review of the rights of the obligations of businesses with respect to the updated disability access standards in the new regulation, effective January 2016.
