Eurydice at the Linen Building
HomeGrown Theater (formerly Black Linen Productions) presents Eurydice written by Sarah Ruhl. Eurydice is a contemporary play depicting the struggle of a female having to choose between being a loyal daughter to her father or being a proper wife to her husband; a real-life topic uncommonly discussed or touched upon. Playwright Sarah Ruhl has mastered incorporating quirky language and odd-ball characters into a world deeply involved in an undercurrent of realism. Please join us October 11th, 12th & 13th at The Linen Building, 1402 W. Grove Street. Doors open at 6:30pm, show starts at 7:30pm. Cost is $8 general, $6 for students and seniors. This show is appropriate for ages 10+. Reviews about Sarah Ruhl: "In her weird and wonderful new play, 'Eurydice,' the gifted young writer Sarah Ruhl has adapted this mournful legend with a fresh eye, concentrating not on the passionate pilgrimage of Orpheus to retrieve his bride but on Eurydice's descent into the jaws of death." -The New York Times "If you want to see a work that people will remember not to mention a playwright whose words are sure to resonate for many years I recommend that you experience Eurydice." -The City Beat
