Lua Hadar with TWIST
Vocalist LUA HADAR and her band, TWIST, stir up the audience with hot Latin rhythms, sexy Italian ballads, funk a la Francais, and jazz from The Great American Songbook. Both chanteuse and comedienne, Hadar's luscious voice seduces, as she peppers the continental evening with quirky stories and a playful dose of cabaret showmanship. Jazz pianist and composer Jason Martineau leads the genre-bending 5-piece band, TWIST.
The freshness of the sound comes from a mix of original songs, well-known jazz tunes done in unexpected ways, and international songs - both familiar and not - performed in French, Spanish or Italian. Samba to swing, bossa nova to jazz waltz, Lua Hadar bends her agile voice around it all, with elegance and effervescence.
