John de Graaf and David Batker: 'What's the Economy For, Anyway?'
Here's the question no one has ever bothered to ask about the economy: How can we make it work for us, instead of the other way around? Local activists John de Graaf and David Batker, authors of What's the Economy For, Anyway? (based on the film of the same name), tackle 13 economic issues, challenging us to consider the point of our economy and setting forth a simple goal for any economic system: the greatest good for the greatest number over the longest run. Presented by the Town Hall Center for Civic Life with University Book Store. Series media sponsorship provided by PubliCola. Series supported by The Boeing Company Charitable Trust and the RealNetworks Foundation.
