NEIL HAMBURGER
"Despite his appalling comic timing, muddled delivery, and cliched material, stand-up Neil Hamburger nevertheless emerged as one of the most acclaimed and name-checked comedians of his generation; like Lenny Bruce before him, he was a hipster icon whose trailblazing riffs defied conventions at every turn, transcending the confines of hilarity with kamikaze recklessness. Prior to his ascendance, comedians were expected not only to be funny, but insightful as well; Hamburger changed all that forever." - Answers.com
"On his last visit to the U.K. shores, the self-titled '$1 Funnyman' received critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe festival, gaining five-star reviews from the Scotsman and comedy website Chortle. But in the same string of British dates he was heckled, booed and eventually bottled off stage at the Reading music festival. What went wrong? 'Well, it's not for everybody,' he admits. 'I was so glad that these newspaper people were on my side. I'd rather they liked my act than those 11-year-old drug addicts, who were at Reading festival to see Limp Bizkit and gave me a hard time because I didn't sing sewer music like those pigs do.' As for critical acclaim, Hamburger acknowledges it's not much comfort in situations like those. 'I could go on stage holding a five-star review as a shield, but a lot of those kids haven't even learned how to read,' says the surly comic." - Time Out London

THE KENNY "K-STRASS" STRASSER YO-YO EXTRAVAGANZA
In case you haven't heard about K-Strass yet, he's become known in recent months as 'the yo-yo Borat who keeps fooling dumb TV stations.' It seems he claims to be a yo-yo champion who uses his skills to spread a message about environmental awareness. But once he's on the air, it becomes clear that K-Strass is not what he seems." - NPR.org
"A man calling himself Kenny "K-Strass" Strasser has fooled five Midwestern television stations into putting him on the air as a supposed Yo-Yo expert. When it comes time for K-Strass to demonstrate his yo-yo trick, he always finds a way to screw it up. The trick is on the TV station. Is this guy a modern-day Andy Kaufman or a freak who lives in his mom's basement?" - Minneapolis City Pages

Since 2003, the CLUB CHUCKLES showcase has presented a harrowing, dazzling array of stand-up, sketch, musical, and otherwise unclassifiable comedy. A bated-breath mess of loving, loathing, orgasmic hilarity, painfully uncomfortable liminal moments, existential stuntwork, rank professionalism, seasonal amateurism, unannounced lafftracks, and a lot of other stuff you had no idea you'd ever sit still for until now.
"Club Chuckles: a pivotal force in giving comedians opportunities to reach new audiences - people who regularly go to rock shows but rarely step into established comedy venues such as the Punch Line or Cobb's." - SF Chronicle
