Midsummer/Jersey
This is a World Premiere!!
Ken Ludwig's Midsummer/Jersey" is a mashup of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and MTV's reality show "Jersey Shore." It follows the story of MSND using modern language, and is set in contemporary New Jersey. Four "Guido" and "Guidette" teens run away from legal and parental objections to a wooded beach, near the site of a group of hairdressers rehearsing a play they hope will be featured at the imminent wedding of the Governor. It is also the stomping ground for two groups of magical fairies who are feuding with each other. When Oberon's servant Puck is sent on an errand, he meddles in the lives of both the players and the lovers, and everything gets more mixed up than a TV Rom-Com!
