The Ume Group presents The Inaugural 10/48 Physical Festival - NYC
New York City: In May 2016, The Ume Group will gather an ensemble of director/choreographers, performers, and musicians for an unprecedented collaborative challenge. Participants will be randomly assigned to create temporary companies and several never-before-seen, live, physical theatre shorts in just 8 hours.
ONE-NIGHT-ONLY PERFORMANCE: May 26 @ 8PM

OR $10 cash-only at the door, on a space-available basis
There will be a waitlist starting at 7:30pm on the day of the performance.
Participating artists will be announced in late May 2016.

The Ume Groupis a New York - based dance / physical theatre ensemble,dedicated to sharing traditionsanddeveloping new work. We believe that a good artist is constantlylearning, creating, teaching,andperforming.We are hailed by critics for ourcommanding, physically impressive performances(The Village Voice) andrisky physical vulnerability(nytheatre.com)which basically means...we do a lot of handstands and crazy butoh stuff.
