RR Playhouse Theatre Workshop: Introduction to Acting Technique
INTRODUCTION TO ACTING TECHNIQUE 10 weeks. Begins Tuesday, October 18th- Tuesday, December 20th 4:00-5:30pm every Tuesday. Tuition- $300
Culminating in a showcase for theater professionals!
General overview of the acting process includes improvisation, character and script study. For ages 12 and up. *Note: If your child is under 12 but you wish to discuss registering them email info@rrplayhouse.org.
This workshop is designed for young actors who are either beginning or have some experience. The workshop will include improvisation, movement and vocal training and scripted scene study. Students will concentrate on character and emotional development learning to define specific emotional elements and applying them to the character in the script. They will be asked to use there own experiences and imaginations in the process.
Taught by Paul Ellis- Paul Ellis (Writer, Producer, Director) has worked in show business for 40 years. Trained as a theatre director with Lee Strassberg, Jullian Beck, and Richard Schechner, he has directed more than ninety plays. He studied playwriting with Jean-Claude Van Ittalie at Princeton University. As a producer he is responsible for producing festivals, concerts and major events and is a long time advocate for community based arts.
