Spoke the Hub presents The Gowanus Guest Room
Curated by Brooklyn independent dancer/choreographer Erin Gottwald, this newest of Spoke the Hub's concert series gathers artists and performers of all stylistic bents from cities beyond New York, providing a window into unknown dance territory. These out-of-towners have been invited to share their work in the artistically burgeoning industrial and residential neighborhood of the Gowanus in Brooklyn.
WHO'S ON THE PROGRAM? The Pillow Project from Pittsburgh, PA will present "The Memory of Paper" which is part of The Pillow Project's long-term project of creating thoughts, forgetting ideas, and finding lost memories.
Erika Batdorf from Toronto, Ontoario presents Mr. Raisin Head, a comic, intelligent, metaphorical solo about a man who thinks he's a raisin, but is actually a lizard, who marries a grape and is turning into a fish...
EgoArt from Boston, MA will premiere excerpts from their new work. Their dance productions are inspirational and transformative and make dance-going an active, visceral experience.
