Being Elmo-Documentary Film Festival
Dir: Constance Marks/ 2011/ US/ 79 min / High Definition video You don't have to be a parent to know Elmo, the bright red, fuzzy monster with the adorably shrill voice that lives on Sesame Street. Overtly friendly, with an insatiable curiosity streak, Elmo wields such a strong persona that it's easy to forget that there is an actual human behind this omnipresent puppet with a huge fan base. In the Sundance Film Festival favorite Being Elmo: A Puppeteer's Journey, we meet Kevin Clash, the man behind the monster. We see how his childhood interest in puppetry, spurred by watching Sesame Street, grew into his dream job, giving life to one of the world's most popular characters.
