The "strongman" of the title is Stanley Pleskun, a freelance sideshow performer who bills himself as "Stanless Steel, the Strongest Man Alive." He shows up at shopping malls in New Jersey and elsewhere to bend pennies with his fingers and lift trucks. But where is his life headed? Roger Ebert writes that this picture is "the kind of documentary I find engrossing: A film about an unusual person that invites us into the mystery of a human life."
