Made in Brooklyn Tours are guided walking tours that celebrate the creativity, ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit of Brooklynites past and present. They tell the story of Brooklyn's industrial revolution and its current resurgence.
On Made in Brooklyn Tours the stars of the show are the people who make things. In DUMBO we may visit the makers of chocolate, coffee, bicycles, art, customized clothing and more depending on their availability. Discover how Brooklyn is going green on the Makin' It Green in DUMBO Tour starring the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative. See the creative entrepreneurs and artisans in DUMBO who are literally re-making Brooklyn with a social and ecological conscience.
So come with me, a native Brooklynite and licensed NYC Sightseeing Guide, and "See who's makin' it green in Brooklyn!"
Brooklyn Greenway Initiative (BGI) Brooklyn Greenway Initiative is the 501(c) 3 non-profit organization responsible for conceiving, planning and coordinating the development of the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway.
When its founders started in 1998, a 14-mile greenway along Brooklyn's industrial waterfront was inconceivable to New York City officials. Now the greenway is recognized as an essential public health and sustainable transportation resource that will shape the future development of Brooklyn's waterfront.
After ten years of building support, planning, and securing funding, the greenway is poised to become a unified New York City capital project.

Additional Details Made in Brooklyn Tours have a Made in Brooklyn theme. No two tours - even of the same neighborhood - are alike. Each is a unique experience! We make several scheduled stops moving at a leisurely pace. Depending on how the group feels, we may go over the posted end time. You're encouraged to return to your favorite stops after the tour to shop, eat or drink.
If you want a tour about Brooklyn's cultural diversity, important literary and political figures; its architecture and food these tours are NOT for you! Strictly speaking, these are NOT food or beverage tours though there may be tasting opportunities.
Tours are designed with starting points that are easy to reach by public transportation or ferry. Please arrive about ten minutes early and use the restroom before we start. These are walking tours and we'll be outside much of the time. Dress appropriately for the weather. Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a bottle of water and don't forget your camera! Note: These tours are designed for adults.
