At Sea
Lawrence Ferlinghetti will recite the debut of his new poem At Sea. He is a preeminent poet, painter, publisher, and founder of City Lights Books, agent provocateurs studied at Columbia University, the Sorbonne and the Academie Julien in Paris after World War II. His Coney Island of the Mind is translated to many languages and has sold over a million copies. He sold Allan Ginsberg's Howl and was arrested on obscenity charges at the time . Also a visual artist, Ferlinghetti exhibits his work in San Francisco and Rome.
Lawrence Ferlinghetti will be joined by Jack Hirschman , a belived San Francisco poet and raccounteer will read from his new Arcana. The two poets who have read and exhibited painting together in San Francisco and Rome will also be in conversation.
