And now the legal mumbo-jumbo... Reserved Ticket and VIP tickets include gift bottles. Multiple tickets per guest are allowed. If you cannot attend the release party bottles and cases of Anno Quinto will be available for pick up beginning Sunday, July 26th, 2015. Bottles will be available for pick up ONLY at the Mike Hess Tasting Room in North Park (3812 Grim Avenue San Diego, CA 92104). Bottles may be picked up seven days a week during normal tasting room hours (Sun-Thurs 12p to 10p & Fri-Sat 12p to 12a). LAST DAY for pick up of bottle purchases will be Monday, August 31st, 2015. ***Bottles not picked up at by 10p on 8/31/15 will be considered abandoned by the purchaser and ownership of the bottles will revert back to Mike Hess Brewing Co. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE BOTTLES UNLESS YOU CAN PICK THEM UP BY 8/31/15. NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED IN THE EVENT OF ABANDONMENT, NO EXEMPTIONS. Pick up Instructions: You will need to print out a copy of your CONFIRMATION EMAIL from BROWN PAPER TICKETS and bring it along with a valid bona fide PHOTO ID. Valid forms of IDs are limited to current (not expired) Federal or State issued IDs with a photo, name, and birth date of the ID holder. This list is limited to State issued Drivers licenses, Passport or passport cards (either international or domestic), State issued photo ID cards, and Military IDs which meet the above qualifications (photo, name, and birth date). The purchaser name on the confirmation email must match the name on the photo ID. The purchaser MUST BE OVER 21 years old before the start of the sale (7/14/2014). Bottles will not be released to a proxy, nor will they be released to purchasers who are not of legal drinking age (such bottles will be considered abandoned and no refunds will be issued). Shipping Policy: Mike Hess Brewing will not ship this release to purchasers. Bottles will only be released to purchasers in person at the North Park Tasting Room (3812 Grim Ave, San Diego, CA 92104). Please see Day of Pick up Instructions above. No alternate methods of pick up will be allowed. Return or Refunds: All sales are final. Mike Hess Brewery will not exchange or refund any bottle sale. No refunds or exchanges will be made under any circumstances. MHB guarantees the quality of the product at the time of packaging. Once the bottles leave the possession of MHB, they are the sole responsibility of the purchaser. Please enjoy responsibly. Furthermore, these beers are ready to consume once in the possession of the purchaser and chilled to a proper serving temperature. If the purchaser plans on aging these beers, the purchaser does so at their own risk. Aging packaged beer is not guaranteed venture. Conditions outside the brewery's control (such as temperature fluctuation, stability of physical environment, shifting in transit, subtle flaws in packaging material, light exposure, and moisture content in the environment) can have drastic impact on the quality of the packaged beer and can be further compounded by a lengthy aging period. These warnings are not meant to alarm, but rather inform the purchaser in the event that they choose to age the beer. These bottles contain filtered beer, however the beer is unpasteurized. Despite not having a thick layer of yeast sediment, there is still a small amount of yeast in the finished product, which is still considered a "living beer". MHB suggests that the bottles be stored at consistent cellar temperatures until the time of consumption to ensure top quality of the product. MHB reserves the right accept or decline an order for any reason, or to supply less than the quantity of bottles originally ordered if not available at the time of pick-up.

Anno Quinto Bottle Release Party

Our 5th-Year Anniversary is just around the corner. The brewery has grown quickly over the past 5 years. We tasked our brewers to design a beer that really embodies that feeling. And, on 7/26/15 you can join us for the official Bottle Release Party here at Mike Hess Brewing North Park.

Anno Quinto, the Latin translation for fifth anniversary, is our take on an American Strong Ale. We started with a recipe that's fairly true to style: layers of Pale, Munich, Crystal, and Special B malts provide a flavorful backbone which we piled on layers of Apollo, Cascade and Centennial hops. The end result is a boldly bitter strong ale with waves of toffee, pine, caramel, and citrus.

We are happy with how this beer is drinking fresh off the brite tank. What we're really excited about is how we expect this beer to age. This beer should be excellent at 6 months, a year, and even 2 years. At 7.9% it is plenty strong enough to squirrel away. We expect some of the sharp, punchy flavors of the young beer to mellow out and reveal a nutty depth with hints of orange, spice, chai, and possibly maple syrup as it ages.

We released a massive Triple IPA last year which was designed to be drank young. Recently we have seen that beer popping up on social media and wanted this year's release to sand the test of time. Anno Quinto will evolve, just like our brewery, and improve over the years.

We doubt we'll have the patience to hold this beer for the next 5 years, but were excited for the potential flavors that will emerge. We're keeping the price point for this bottle at a very reasonable $6.99. Additionally we're discounting full cases of twelve (12) 22oz. bottles for those of you looking to cellar this beer.
