BrechtFest
Directed By Bobbin Ramsey Conceived and Created by The Horse in Motion
With selections from: Baal The Good Person of Szechwan The Threepenny Opera By Bertolt Brecht Translated By Eric Bentley
Weaving together three classic stories by Bertolt Brecht, dinner theatre is turned on its head as we tackle income inequality, gender dynamics, and the essential question of how to survive in a society where the game is rigged. Using Brecht's groundbreaking principles of epic theatre, reimagined by the Millennials of today, the production invites the audience into an experience that is at once playful and unsettling, informed by history and totally new. The actors are the servers as epic theatre is given new immediacy in this fun and creative creation from one of Seattle's newest and most inventive theatre companies. With music, outsize characters, and delicious breakfast fare, the audience will be treated to a morning of politics, theatre, and bacon unlike any other.
