Wild Honey Presents Rain Parade and Baby Lemonade & Nelson Bragg and Friends For the Autism Think Tank
Show #1 In Wild Honey's "They Never Play LA, Enough Series for the Autism Think Tank.

RAIN PARADE The band was founded by college roommates Matt Piucci (guitar, vocals) and David Roback (guitar, vocals) in 1981, originally as The Sidewalks.[;;;;;1];;;;; David's brother Steven Roback (bass, vocals) joined the band shortly thereafter. David and Steven had been in a band called The Unconscious with neighbor Susanna Hoffs (who went on to lead the most famous of the Paisley Underground bands, The Bangles.) The band soon added Will Glenn (keyboards and violin) and later Eddie Kalwa (drums). They self-released their debut single, "What She's Done to Your Mind" on their Llama label in 1982.[;;;;;1];;;;;

In 1983, they released their debut album, Emergency Third Rail Power Trip, on the Enigma/Zippo label. Critic Jim DeRogatis would later write in his book Turn on Your Mind: Four Decades of Great Psychedelic Rock (2003) that "Emergency Third Rail Power Trip is not only the best album from any of the Paisley Underground bands, it ranks with the best psychedelic rock efforts from any era", with uplifting melodies offset by themes that were "dark and introspective."[;;;;;2];;;;; According to DeRogatis, the album showcased "the Robacks' ethereal vocals, Eddie Kalwa's precise drumming, Will Glenn's colorful sitar, violin, and keyboard accents, and an intricate, chiming, but droney two-guitar attack that picks up where the Byrds left off with 'Eight Miles High.'"[;;;;;2];;;;;

After David Roback left to form a new band, Opal, the rest of the band continued to record as a four piece, releasing the mini-LP Explosions in the Glass Palace in 1984.[;;;;;1];;;;; NME would later write, in praise of Explosions in the Glass Palace: "Sound cathedrals? We got 'em ... mind-meltingly beautiful guitar sounds, employed sparingly and dynamically amid dark, dizzy tales of murder, madness and drug paranoia."[;;;;;3];;;;;[;;;;;4];;;;; The song "No Easy Way Down" was cited as a "mantra for an altered state of mind, and testament to a band who, however fleetingly, made music that sounded like the best drugs ever."[;;;;;3];;;;;

After the release of a single, "You Are My Friend", drummer Eddie Kalwa left, his replacement being Mark Marcum, and John Thoman (guitar, vocals) was also added to the line-up.[;;;;;1];;;;; The band signed to Island Records, and a live album (Beyond The Sunset) recorded in Japan, and a third album, Crashing Dream, came out in 1985.[;;;;;5];;;;;

The band split in 1986, with Piucci going on to release the LP Can't Get Lost When You're Goin' Nowhere with Tim Lee under the band name Gone Fishin', and later joining Crazy Horse. The band reformed in 1988 to finish off a double album they had started, but it was never released.[;;;;;1];;;;; Steven Roback went on to form the band Viva Saturn whose releases appeared on the San Francisco label Heyday Records which was run at the time by Pat Thomas. (Pat Thomas made waves of his own in the Rochester New York band Absolute Grey).

After making the album Rainy Day, featuring cover versions performed by various leading lights of the Paisley Underground, David Roback formed The Clay Allison Band and Opal with ex Dream Syndicate bassist Kendra Smith, and later formed Mazzy Star with Hope Sandoval.

The Rain Parade reformed in 2012, performing their comeback gig on December 20, 2012 at Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco on a sold out bill with Powder and The Bang Girl Group Revue. The current Rain Parade line-up includes original members Matt Piucci, Steven Roback and John Thoman, augmented by Mark Hanley, Alec Palao and former Game Theory drummer Gil Ray.

In December 2013, Rain Parade played two nights with three other reunited Paisley Underground bands  The Bangles, The Dream Syndicate, and The Three O'Clock  at The Fillmore in San Francisco (Dec. 5) and The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles (Dec. 6 benefit concert).[;;;;;6];;;;;

Baby Lemonade was formed in 1992 by teen pals, guitarist/singer/songwriters, Rusty Squeezebox and Mike Randle, drummer, David "Daddy-O" Green, later adding Hollywood's favorite trash-pop band, Boys Named Sue's bassist, Dave Chapple, to the mix, solidifying the band's sound. In 1993 (with original bassist, Henry Lui), the band landed the gig of a lifetime; opening up and then procuring the spot as Iconic 60's legend Arthur Lee's LOVE group. The band released a single in Spain (Benny & The Jets), as well as the critically acclaimed 10" vinyl EP on Sympathy For The Record Industry (The Wonderful E.P.). They continued to carve their way into the music business gigging regularly Southern California's pop music scene while also performing as LOVE with Arthur Lee.

Baby Lemonade continued to pull double duties, touring and recording with Arthur Lee, while releasing 2 more full length records, 1996's 68% Pure Imagination on SFTRI and 1998's Exploring Music on New York's BIG DEAL label.

Upon their return from a LOVE tour in Europe, in June, 1996, the band was shocked to find that Arthur had been sentenced to 12 years in prison on a weapons charge,.

In 2000, Rusty and Mike released solo albums on eggBERT records (Isotopes and My Music Loves You -even if i don't, respectively), followed by the band's final record in 2001, The High Life Suite. Bassist, Dave Chapple briefly left the group to create the Harvette LP and was replaced by Muff's Drummer, Jim Laspesa on bass.

Later, after nearly 6 years in prison, Arthur's case was overturned and shortly after, at his request, Baby Lemonade began rehearsing for what would be non-stop LOVE touring (this time with original LOVE guitarist and co-founder, Johnny Echols). Tours continued through North America, UK, Europe and Australia from 2002-2005 and enjoyed unprecedented success: Glastonbury (2x), Roskilde, Royal Festival Hall, Queen Anne's Hall, Jools Holland Show and multiple high-profile festivals.

In July of 2005, Arthur and the band learned later he was in early stages of Leukimia. After a brave battle, Arthur Lee passed away one year later. Arthur's last show ever was with Baby Lemonade (June 22nd & 23rd) at San Francisco's Cafe Du Nord, leaving the world forever missing the music that inspired Baby Lemonade.

In 2008, Baby Lemonade was asked to join the prestigious London Sinfonietta in performing the classic Beatle's album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" in Milan, Italy. The band backed Marianne Faithful, Alex Chilton, Robyn Hitchcock, Peter Murphy, Russell Mael, Jarvis Cocker and The Residents.

Now, after a 15 year hiatus and encouragement of fans, the band is pulling double duties once again; playing select live shows as Baby Lemonade and rehearsing for a LOVE revisited UK/ Europe tour in the summer of 2016.

NELSON BRAGG has been Brian Wilson's percussionist/vocalist since 2003.

He also toured the world with The Beach Boys 50th Anniversary Celebration, summer 2012.

Nelson Bragg is a veteran on the L.A. pop scene, Bragg has played/recorded with L.A. bands Stew and The Negro Problem, Seth Swirsky (The Red Button), The Quarter After, The Mockers, Wrecking Crew members Hal Blaine, Don Randi and Jerry Cole, and produced and toured with Anny Celsi among countless others. He also was in The Narada Michael Walden Orchestra at Carnegie Hall and San Francisco's Davis Hall backing up Sting, Billy Joel and James Taylor among many others.

We Get What We Want is Nelson Bragg's 2nd solo album following his 2006 debut Day Into Night.

The music on both albums is melodic, harmony-based folk/pop with 60's and 70's influence.

Nelson Bragg deserves to be heard. We Get What We Want has been received all over the world with high praise from listeners and the press alike. It is original. It is classic. It is pop songwriting lovingly produced for people avoiding TV-made rock stars and cookie cutter, auto-tuned formulas.
