2011-10-15b Closing Night: Surrogate Valentine -- DC APA Film Festival
San Francisco musician Goh Nakamura (playing himself) is barely scraping by while playing live gigs and teaching guitar lessons. So when a filmmaker friend asks Goh to teach TV star Danny Turner (Chadd Stoops) how to play the guitar for his upcoming movie role, Goh jumps at the chance. In an attempt to learn the ins and outs of being a "rock star," Danny follows Goh on his West Coast tour. Directed by Dave Boyle (White on Rice, screened at the 2009 DC APA Film Festival), Surrogate Valentine is a sweet, romantic comedy showcasing the music of Goh Nakamura.
