Slow Dining Adventure: at Alice's Restaurant with Markegard Ranch
Join Slow Food South Bay for another "Slow Dining Adventure!" Wednesday, July 22, 2015, 7pm
Get an insight to our regional food web and learn how to tap into it, how to strengthen it.
This time we will dine together at Alice's Restaurant in Woodside. They are using grass fed beef and organic produce, both locally grown.
Our menu:
Farmer's Burger and Fries: 100% grass fed, free-range beef from Markegard* Family Ranch, San Gregorio.
Kale Salad: Kale harvested from SMIP* Ranch Produce off Skyline Blvd, dressed in an avocado vinaigrette, topped with parmesan cheese and pine nuts.
Dessert: Home-made Blackberry Pie with ice cream.
Note: a vegetarian option will be announced soon.
Dinner date: Wednesday, July 22, 2015 Dinner served at: 7pm (Arrive early to order your drink and get to know each other.)
General admission: $30 Slow Food members: $27 Price includes $5 as a contribution to Slow Food South Bay. Price includes tax. Price does not include gratuity. Price does not include drink. All drinks to be ordered and paid for at the bar. Menu subject to change due to produce availability.

We will hear from: - Chef Rufino and others from Alice's Restaurant - Doniga from Markegard Family Ranch
They will talk about how it all began, how it works - from growing the food, to planning the menu. We will get an insight to our regional food web and learn how we can tap into it, how we can strengthen it.
Edible Silicon Valley editor and owner, Kerri Stenson, will join us, too! ...taking photos and writing an article for her magazine about our event, and our Slow Dining Adventures.
Slow Food leaders will be at the table to share with you what we are up to, what we know about our local food shed.
NOTE: Regular seating is still available in the restaurant during this event.
