Recycled Materials Runway Event
Edgy Eco-Decadent designers from across the state will gather in Escondido to preview their socially relevant arte-couture and prĂȘt-a-porter designs. All garments and accessories are constructed, assembled and embellished using conventional and non-traditional elements including thrifted, reconditioned and trashed materials.
The "Recycled Materials Runway Event" will take place Saturday, October 22nd, 2010. The evening begins at 5:00pm with the runway fashion show starting at 7:30pm. The "Recycled Materials Runway Event" is open to artists and designers young and old, with a focus on students and emerging fashion designers. This exciting evening combines visual arts, including film, and installations as the inspired backdrop for a unique and spirited runway show.
This year the event will be held at the Museum, CA. Center for the Arts. Sponsors include The National Endowment for the Arts, Pam Slater-Price, 3rd District Supervisor County of San Diego, hair and make-up artists at Studio 158, as well as lounge sponsor Tango's Restaurant,Stone Brewery, Pho Saigon Express, DejaVu Photo Services and Letidus Films. October 7th thru November 4th the "Recycled Art" exhibition will run in the Escondido Municipal Gallery with the Opening Reception on Saturday, October 8th from 5:30 - 8:00pm. This exhibition invites you to grab your suitcase, shoes and Pez dispensers for a narrative art trip through our found cultural materials. Some pieces from the exhibition will be shown at the Runway Event.
