Devil Boys from Beyond is a loving parody of classic and not-so-classic films from a variety of genres, such as 1950s sci-fi (Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Invaders from Mars), hardboiled newspaper comedy (The Front Page, His Girl Friday, It Happened One Night), and conventional melodrama (The Lost Weekend, The Strange Loves of Martha Ivers).
