AME presents Food & Music
Make sure to bring your appetite! All of the works on our final program are inspired by food, and we will present six delectable pieces from across the culinary spectrum, including Three Place Settings by Barbara Kolb, narrated by the highly-entertaining master of American song, Paul Sperry. We will tantalize you with Fruity Pebbles by Marc Mellits, as well as La Bonne Cuisine by Leonard Bernstein and The Gourmands Lament by Yotam Haber. Both will be sung by beautiful soprano Jacquelyn Familant. In addition, we will present the world premiere of Eating Variations by Artistic Director Robert Paterson, with text by New York-based poet Ron Singer, as well as the winning work of AMEs Third Annual Composition Competition. Finally, we will perform the culinary musical classic Quattro Stagioni dalla Cucina Futurisimo (The Four Seasons of Futurist Cuisine) by Aaron Jay Kernis for narrator and chamber ensemble. After the concert, join us for a lovely food and wine reception that will contain many of the culinary delights highlighted in the program!
