HIS DARK PLACES: Litquake Presents James Ellroy
Notorious Los Angeles author James Ellroy, the self-described "demon dog of American crime fiction, the foul owl with the death growl," returns to Litquake for an exclusive one-on-one conversation with author Janis Cooke Newman. Topics will range from Ellroy's relentless and densely plotted writing style, to his adventures with women, adventures with Hollywood, and adventures within the recesses of his mind.
James Ellroy is an acclaimed author of crime fiction, essays, and memoirs, including the Underworld U.S.A. Trilogy: "American Tabloid," "The Cold Six Thousand," and "Blood's A Rover;" and the L. A. Quartet novels: "The Black Dahlia," "The Big Nowhere," "L.A. Confidential," and "White Jazz."
Janis Cooke Newman is author of the novel "Mary," which was named Best Historical Novel of 2006 by USA Today, as well as a memoir, "The Russian Word for Snow." She is currently at work on a new novel.
