Event
Jamie Laval in Greensboro, NC
A fun-filled musical evening of Celtic music, history, and story-telling tracing the musical links between the Scots-Irish immigration and present day Appalachian mountain music and bluegrass. Donning Highland attire, Jamie will perform music from the Scotland, Ireland, and Brittany and discuss how it evolved from a blending of banjo music of the african american slaves as well as other influences such as native american.
This event marks the release of Jamie's new album, "Murmurs and Drones", a musical journey through the Scottish Highlands. "There's a teardrop in every movement of the bow", writes The San Jose Mercury News, "What stories his violin has to tell through his heartfelt playing! This is a virtuoso who understands the beauty of nuance."
