In the performance Mouse Auditions, process becomes the product when experimental choreographer and Headlands' AIR Melinda Ring (AIR '11) holds tryouts for a fully-imagined but never-to-be-performed work loosely based on Kafka's The Metamorphosis. An absurd multi-layered drama develops as Ring auditions Bay area performers for a variety of roles, including Gregor Samsa in his physically confused state, Grete his sad musical sister, his volatile father, and the evil boss. Even Ring's own role as director is up for grabs. Come anytime during the performance and stay as long as you like. What you see depends on when you arrive and how long you stay.
