Mahogany Ensemble Theatre production of Once On This Island
Mahogany Ensemble Theatre ends its sixth season of plays with the summer youth production of the hit Broadway musical Once On This Island, by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. This captivating and romantic Broadway musical is based on the original Hans Christian Andersen tale of The Little Mermaid. At the center of this tropical tale is Ti Moune, a poor peasant girl sent on a journey by the Gods to test the strength of love against the power of death. The age-old story of star-crossed lovers gets a shot of Calypso rhythm and soulful Caribbean heat in this bittersweet musical romance. Once on This Island is filled with the melody, love and drama of the tropics.
