Spectral Theatre's "Late-Night Double Feature" August'11
All throughout the summer Spectral Theatre's "Late-Night Double Feature" will present two spooky/weird/unusual/offensive scripts lovingly crafted by the freaky, filth mongers in and around Spectral Theatre and performed live on the stage by some of Vancouver's most gruesomely gifted up-and-coming performers. For our 3rd month we're continuing the fun with another grim grouping of ghastly proportions...
"Grimley Fiendish" written ...by Caroe Sandoval and directed by J-C Roy; a dark, punk inspired tale about a gifted youth struggling to find meaning in life through music.
Featuring Kurtis Maguire, Kris Buller, Ren Boggio, Nathan Cottell, Justin Robinson, Joe Povia and Lindsay Galbraith.
followed by
"Day of the Lobster" written by Kris Buller and directed by David Quast and Kris Buller; a delightful excursion into the golden-age of B-movie horror, wherein a hapless scientist is charged with saving his city from a plague of man-sized lobsters.
Featuring Matthew Spears, Lindsay Galbraith, Nathan Cottell, Marc Williams, Tara Webster, Ren Boggio and Kris Buller.
Both plays playfully recreate the experience of hiding under your blankets reading EC Comics with a flashlight. Just don't let your parents catch you rotting your mind with this smut!
Thursdays - Saturdays Doors at 9:30pm show at 10:00pm. Tickets $12 in advance or $16 at the door. Don't forget "Threesome Thursdays"; 2 pay and the 3rd is in for free!
